Meeting Mark Tremonti

September 25, 2004, The Odeon, Cleveland, Ohio.

This was one of the best days of my life.

For years, I was a huge fan of the band Creed.

I had been blessed with the opportunities to see them live five times over a 2 1/2 year period. They blew me away in concert. It was always a dream of mine to meet the guys, but it was Creed, and anyone who knows them knows that wasn't likely to happen to the average folk!

In 2004, the fans received the sad news that the band was breaking up. Three members of the band, Mark Tremonti (my all-time favorite guitarist- C lick here to see why), Brian Marshall (their former bassist), and Scott Phillips (drums) were forming a new band with a new lead singer (Myles Kennedy) called Alter Bridge (Click here to watch a video). I snatched their new CD the day it came out and fell in love with the music all over again. Up in Cleveland, there was a small concert club in the notorious "Flats" called The Odeon. This was a favorite spot of mine to see shows, and I frequented there often. The charm of The Odeon was that it was so small and personable it was like having the bands play your own private garage concert. The news came that Alter Bridge was to play there. I was so excited! Mark Tremonti at my Odeon! I had only ever gotten to see the guys in unapproachable, untouchable arenas. They were coming to MY PLACE! Well, it ended up being the night of my life. After an amazing show, we hung out with three of the band members, and got pictures and autographs. Mark Tremonti even accidentally wrote on my arm with a Sharpie and felt pretty bad about it, lol. I joked that I could probably live with that! I was so thankful for the opportunity to meet Mark Tremonti and the rest of the guys. I thanked God and knew in my heart that it was His special way of doing something that He knew would just light up my world. He spoke to my heart and told me that this was just the beginning. The new life he had blessed me with after my divorce, and the fact that He delivered me, was one that I would see all of my dreams come to pass. After all, He knows the desires of my heart because He placed them there!
