Trip to Prague

In January 2004, I started having thoughts of missionary work. I spoke with God about it, and envisioned myself possibly moving far away after my daughters were grown. I am a huge archaeology buff and love to learn about other cultures. I imagined perhaps I would be in Egypt or some place like that. I laughed to myself in my car having these thoughts, trying to see myself learning a new language like that.
About a week later, I was asked out-of-the-blue to accompany a missions team on a short-term missions trip to Prague, Czech Republic. The pastor leading the team told me the trip would cost $1,036.00. Well, how in the world could I do that? I had two young daughters who needed me and not too much money, to say the least! The pastor told me that I wasn't supposed to pay for the trip myself, but that I was to step out in faith that God would move others to donate to the missionary work I was about to embark upon. I prayed about it and immediately had peace that I was supposed to go. I worked out child care arrangements for my girls and accepted the invitation.
Over the next two months, donations began pouring in, $50 here, $10, there. The day of our departure, at about 1:30 in the afternoon, I had received donations totaling $1,005.00 I praised God for His faithfulness. He had provided all but $31 toward my trip to Prague. How awesome was that? My contribution toward this monumental (to me) cost of the trip was just $31.00, which was certainly within my reach. I was thrilled to be used by God in this manner to reach people halfway across the world.
Then the phone rang. One of my former staff members had been praying about my trip, and along with her fiance, had some money they wanted to put toward it. She said she was on her way and would like to bring it to me.
When she arrived, she apologized that it could not be more money and handed me an envelope. I thanked her for her help, hugged her, and she left. After the door closed, I looked in the envelope.
Inside, there was exactly $31.00.
Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!
I had the time of my life in Prague. With the help of a translator, I was able to give testimony to this very miracle before 200 citizens of the Czech Republic. I saw people give their lives to Jesus that day. And my heart was filled to overflowing.
